How can mindfulness help?

Mindfulness is just one tool that we can use to help increase our self-care and looking after ourselves during our cancer journey.
No doubt you have things you like to do, which you enjoy and give you pleasure. We'd encourage you to keep doing them!
Here are our top 12 suggestions for self-care, perhaps there are a few here that you haven't done for a while too.
1. Find time to be in nature.
2. Do some deep breathing to calm the nervous system.
3. Do some of your favourite hobbies.
4. Go for a relaxing walk /wheel outside in the fresh air (if you feel up to it).
5. Making and then eating some of your favourite foods/snacks -(baked cookies spring to mind, yum)!
6. Reading a good book or favourite magazine or listening to some fantastic audio books.
7. A nice warm bath or mindful warm shower.
8. Doing some light exercise that you enjoy (if you feel up to it).
9. Doing your mindfulness practice or even teaching it to someone else/ family member perhaps.
10. Be with your favourite people/ pets.
11. Use this eBook each day to develop your mindfulness skills.
12. Anything that gives you joy, happiness, laughter and the 'feel goods'!
