Mindfulness is an incredibly straightforward and seemingly simple practice to do, yet it is also very complex practice to undertake, as you've probably already noticed, right? As a result, it can be hard to know if this practice is having any effect on us over the long term. To help us know more about the personal benefits of our practice (if we are not sure), here are some questions that you can ask yourself to help discover what benefits you might be getting from your practice?

- Are you often able to notice and observe the present moment (in whatever way suits you) during your practice (however brief)?

There are no right or wrong answers, as everyone's journey in mindfulness is different, however if you can generally answer ‘yes’ or even ‘maybe’ to the questions above, it shows that you are benefitting from your mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is a practice that is best developed over time in order to gain the most benefits. Again some days will be easier than others, so please be kind and gentle with yourself as you practise.
